Nintendo Wii U - What to Expect

At their E3 press conference, Nintendo brought some very exciting news with the unveiling the Wii U, the direct successor of Wii. Early indications show us that Nintendo could give Sony and Microsoft a run for their money with the Wii U. What can we expect from the Wii U and the variety of Wii U games.

What is the Wii U?
The Nintendo Wii U is the successor of the hugely popular Nintendo Wii, and is set to be the first of the eighth generation of gaming consoles. The Wii U will be the first console from Nintendo to produce 1080p high definition graphics with its custom built AMD Radeon HD GPU. It will also feature a new controller with an embedded touchscreen.

As well as backwards compatibility with the Wii Remote and Wii Balance Board, the Wii U will have an all new handheld controller featuring a touchscreen. The on controller screen can display game play even when the TV is turned off.

What About Games?
Nintendo have already confirmed a wide variety of Wii U games. From Lego City Stories to Assassins Creed and even rumors of games like Battlefield and Madden NFL, the Wii U looks set to be a console aimed at all ages.

We can also expect a vast array of family games similar to those available on the Wii to become popular Wii U games. With popularity of Nintendo's motion gaming, why would it not be available for the Wii U?
